Albert Mills, 79, of Plainville, beloved husband and best friend of Josephine “JoAnn”
(Ireredi) Mills,
died Saturday, (September 2, 2000) at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Plainville on April 29, 1921,
the son of the late Albin and Catherine (Krick) Mills.
He was a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, serving during World War II,
and retired from Peck Spring after 43 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Bristol Fish & Game Club and
the Knights of Columbus Gerald T. Corrigan Council 3544 of Plainville.
Besides his wife, JoAnn, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Mills of East
Hartland, and Kenneth Mills
and his wife, Debra (McGinn) of Bristol; three grandchildren, Kimberly Mills of
Unionville and
Amber and Brian Mills of Bristol; a sister, Aldona Swanson; a brother, Stanley
Mills, both of Plainville;
and several nieces and nephews.
Albert was an avid fisherman who had a true passion for the Farmington River.
He also enjoyed bird carving, rod building, fly tying, and spending time with
his family.
You are truly missed but not forgotten.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, at 8 a.m., from
Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville,
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m., at
Our Lady of Mercy Church.
Burial with military honors will follow in
St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m.

for all of their support during this difficult time.
