Walter Joseph Wylot



Walter Joseph Wylot passed away on Wednesday, (September 30, 2009)
at the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) in Washington, DC.

He grew up in New Britain and spent most of his adult life in Plainville.

Mr. Wylot served with valor as a U.S. Marine during World War II in
combat operations in the Pacific Theater. In 1987,
he retired from New Britain General Hospital where he had served as Chief of Maintenance.

His wife Florence Santacrose Wylot passed away in 2000. In 2007,
he moved from Plainville to the AFRH facility.

He is survived by his daughter Linda Christopher; son-in-law James Christopher;
and granddaughters: Alisha Giffin and Jacqueline Christopher, all residing in northern Virginia.

Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on October 14.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers,

donations be sent in his name to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation (mc-lef.org),
which assists children of Marines killed in service to their country.
