Dominic Frank Ragaglia
November 30th, 2022

It is with heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of
Dominic Frank Ragaglia on Nov. 30, 2022.

Our dad was a very special man, a loving husband,
an incredible father, and grandfather.
He leaves behind his loving wife who he adored,
Marie S. (Marando) Ragaglia who he married on Oct. 20, 1956.
She was the love of his life and his eyes sparkled whenever
he was around her.
He also leaves behind his sons of whom he was so proud
of; His son, Scott R. Ragaglia, Esq of Harwinton,
and his wife Sandra, and grandchildren Kyle, Katelyn,
and Olivia; His son Craig Ragaglia of Georgetown, TX and
his wife Barbara, and his grandchildren Matthew and Grace.
He was predeceased by his son Brad, and leaves behind his
grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, Emily Ragaglia and
her husband Dan Jones and great-granddaughter Stella;
Mary Amin and her husband Shay and great-grandsons
Sai and Neev Dominic. He also leaves behind three very
dear family friends; Lois Taft, who has been family since
mom and dad met; Alan Peterson my dad's best friend,
workmate, and golfing buddy; and Marlene Maglio a neighbor
and high school classmate. Dad was predeceased by his
brothers Frank and Michael Ragaglia and sisters
Mary Torelli and Angelina Calistro.

Dominic was born in New Britain on Jan. 3, 1932,
the son of Alfio and Nunziata Ragaglia,
a graduate of New Britain High School, and
earned his engineering degree from the University of Hartford's
Ward Technical School.
He served our country proudly as a member of the
US Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sargent.
He spent his entire career employed by United Technologies
at the Research Center.
Since 1964 he was a resident of Plainville, where he raised
his family. Dad never complained, just worked hard,
always did the right thing, and was happiest when the
house was full of his children, family, and grandchildren
laughing, eating, and playing. The house was decorated for every
holiday known to man and everyone was invited for dinner.
Some of our funniest memories are of our dad dressed up for
Halloween by our mom to hand out candy.
All we could say is that dad was a very good sport.

Dominic was a member of the Our Lady of Mercy Church
in Plainville, and was an active member of the Knights of
Columbus, Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator, and
Past coordinator of the fund raising Golf Tournement.

In his later years he was also a member of St. Patrick's Church
in Farmington. During his retirement, dad and mom often
visited Craig and Family in Europe as Craig was on extended
assignment in Belgium for work. They would take both
mom and dad exploring various European countries,
including Italy where they visited the towns where both
our dad's parents and our mom's parents immigrated from.
As dad aged, he got funnier, and his sense of humor never
ceased to amaze us or his grandchildren, especially after
Craig introduced him to Belgian Beer. While we are sad to
lose him, we are proud to be his children and to
celebrate a life very well lived.
