Donald Soucy

December 7th, 2023

Donald Soucy, 89, of Plainville passed away peacefully on
December 7, 2023 at Southington Care Center.

He was the devoted and loving husband to
Nancy (Labbe) Soucy for over 63 years.

Donald was born on May 28, 1934 in Eagle Lake, Maine son to the
late Alfred and Laura (Ouellette) Soucy.

He grew up in Maine and attended local schools,
prior to moving to CT where he worked as a machinist for
many years at the former Marlin Rockwell in Plainville.

Donald proudly served our country in the United States Army
during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville,
where he served as a Eucharistic minister for several years.

A naturally gifted handyman, Donald completed many home improvements over the years and looked forward to spending time in his own shop
at home that his son built for him, allowing him a space for him to tinker.

The life of the party, with his quick wit, loud antics, and infectious laugh.
Donald was a joy to be around, never knowing what prank he had
up his sleeve or what funny statement was going to be said next.
Donald enjoyed playing cards with the guys and spending time
surrounded by family and friends.

He was the family photographer, capturing many milestones and family gatherings to cherish the memories shared over the years.

He enjoyed life to the fullest and will be missed by his family and friends as they continue to carry on his legacy of hard work, love, and silly jokes.

In addition to his wife, Nancy Soucy, Donald leaves behind his son,
Alan Soucy and his significant other, Linda, of NC, his son, Carl Soucy,
of Plainville, his daughter, Deanna Batista and her husband,
Joe, of Bristol, his grandchildren, Amanda Hungerford and her
husband RJ, of Berlin, and Brandon Collin and his significant other,
Krystal, of Newington, his great grandchildren, Max, Charlotte, and
one on the way, Savannah, and many extended family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Roger Soucy, Edwin Soucy,
Fred Soucy, Rolande Collin, Loretta Tiadora, and Jeanette Bosse.
