was taken home, peacefully while holding his brothers hand, to be with the Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday (June 11, 2008) at the Avon Health Care Center. He shared many blessings with many people and will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord and all those who loved him. Born on March 4, 1934 in St. Francis, Maine, Eddie was a son of the late Emile and Agnes (Jandreau) Michaud. He had worked at CT Spring and most recently at Economy Spring in Southington for many years. He was a member of the Plainville Knights of Columbus, Third Degree, Rev. Gerald T. Corrigan Council and also past Faithful Navigator and Captain of the Color Corps, Fourth Degree of the Rev. Francis J. Finn assembly for many years. He was a communicant and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville, member of the American Legion, French Model Club, St. Jean de Baptiste Societe and Franco –American War Veterans. Eddie proudly received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal for dedication to his country during the Korean Conflict, while he served in the US Air Force. Eddie was known and will be lovingly remembered, especially, for his infectious laugh, keen sense of fashion and his love and enjoyment of dancing. Eddie is survived by three sons, Gary, Brian and Michael Michaud; two daughters, Lynn and Lisa Michaud; two brothers, Olivin "Ollie" Michaud of Avon and Bertrand Michaud of East Hartford; nine grandchildren Lyndsey, Gabrielle, Ashley, Amber, Raymond, Justin, Brandon, Bruce & Gary, II; several nieces and nephews, including Dr. Cynthia Michaud-Innarelli and her children Arianna and Albert Innarelli III, all of whom loved and welcomed Eddie into their home in Simsbury. Many close and dear friends also survive, including Joseph and Rose M. Ciccio of Plainville, Joe and Joanne Levesque of Bristol and Eddie's friends from Larencontre. He was predeceased by two brothers, Reno and Euclid Michaud and two sisters, Fern Jalbert and Patricia Brown. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the loving care given to Eddie by both the Visiting Nurse's Association of Simsbury and the Avon Health Care Center. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 17 at 9 a.m. from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Avon. Family and friends may gather on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
