passed away peacefully on Thursday, (February 12, 2009). He was the beloved husband of Doris J. (DeLage) Addessio with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. To those who knew him, he was a hard working and dedicated man. He served as a part of the Navy Seabees during World War II in the Pacific. Frank's patriotism continued into his civilian life and he faithfully raised the flag at his home everyday for his country. Following the service, he worked as a machinist for Allied and Hamilton Standard. After retirement, he continued to enjoy himself out on the golf course and watching all sports especially UCONN teams. Frank was known for his gardening skills and shared his vegetables with family and friends. He taught himself carpentry and made a lot of the fixtures in his home. His faith in the church was seen during his 60 years as an usher for Our Lady of Mercy Church. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and spent his time on Monday nights playing cards with the boys. Most of all, he loved his family and will be truly missed. Besides his wife, Doris, he leaves his children, Francis L. Addessio and his wife, Barbara of Los Alamos, NM, Kathleen Frederick and her husband, Mark of Kensington; his grandchildren, Laura Addessio, Ryan and Courtney Frederick; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Rae DeRosa, Salvatore and Louis Addessio. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, at 9 a.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. Family and friends may gather on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Malkin and Dr. Pendleton and their staff for their care and compassion.
