Jean S. Albert
January 11, 2021

Jean S. Albert, 90, of Farmington, passed away
peacefully on March 28, 2013 after a long illness.

He is survived by Yvette (Bouchard), his wife of 62 years, his children,
Theresa Nadolny of Pittsboro, NC, Joan Albert of Plainville,
Charles Albert of Enfield, John Albert of Edwards, CO and Michelle Elsasser
of Denver, CO; his daughter- and sons-in-law, Kara Albert, Richard Nadolny
and Jamie Elsasser. His six grandchildren, Colleen and Raymond Barry,
Kathleen Bevivino, Ryan Albert, Max Elsasser and Bowdin Albert - will
miss their "pepere". Jean was a devoted family man.

Born into a boisterous and happy family of 10 brothers and sisters,
he often entertained his own children with stories of his family's
hilarious adventures in his boyhood town of St. Agatha, ME
and of his beloved parents, Felix and Azilda (Michaud) Albert.

He will be missed by his surviving sisters, Franciose Sirois of Madawaska, ME,
Margaret Lapine of Hartford, and his brother, Roger Albert of Toms River, NJ;
and by his large extended family of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

After serving with the Marines in World War II, Jean and his wife moved
to Connecticut, settling in Plainville where they raised their family.
An inspector with Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in Southington for 30 years,
Jean was also a letter carrier with the Plainville Post Office, following in
his own father's footsteps. A devout Catholic, Jean and his family were
longtime parishioners of Our Lady of Mercy in Plainville.

He was a member of the Plainville Knights of Columbus and enjoyed
the fellowship and camaraderie of the group.

During his retirement years, Jean was a proud supporter of the
Plainville Community Pantry, working diligently and joyfully with other
volunteers to stock the pantry shelves and serve the area poor.
He worked tirelessly for his community, his church and his family.
He was a friend to all and a gentleman to the very end.

Jean was an avid and loyal Patriots and Red Sox fan.
He was a firm believer that well done beef was beef well done.
He absolutely loved playing cards and cribbage with family and friends
and did so as often has he could. His laughter was as contagious as it was
spontaneous. He believed that he could fix ANYTHING himself;
all that was needed was the good sense that God gave him, and maybe a piece
of tinfoil and a bobby pin. He approached life with the innocent wonder of a
child and appreciated every experience he had in this world.

As he leaves this life, we can almost hear him say, "Boy, that was fun."

Funeral services for Mr. Albert will be celebrated on
Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville
to St. Gregory Church in Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at
10 a.m. Rites of Committal followed by military honors
will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Plainville.
