ames R. Hines, Jr, 73, of Plainville passed away Tuesday March 15, 2016
surrounded by his loving family at Hartford Hospital.
He was the husband of the late Dorothy Ann (Hart) Hines.

Mr. Hines was born December 12, 1942 in Hartford,
a son of the late James R. Hines, Sr. and Mary (Gallagher) Hines.

He was a graduate of New Britain High School and
proudly served his country in the United States Air Force
as he was serving in France and Germany.

Mr. Hines was employed by Cerro Fabricated Metals, Inc.
 (formerly Accurate Forging) in Bristol, retiring after many years of service.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Reverend Gerald T. Corrigan
Council 3544 of Plainville serving as Chancelor for many years. a
He was also a member of the 4th degree in the Knights of Columbus of Bristol.

He was a Secular Franciscan Brother as well as an ACTS Brother.

Mr. Hines was a volunteer for Food share and the Plainville Food Pantry and
was also an usher at Our Lady of Mercy Church where he was a longtime Communicant.

Mr. Hines leaves his daughter Annmarie Somers of Plainville,
 his brother, Robert Hines of Florida, his sisters, Mary-Alice Hines of Manchester
and Kathleen Davis of Canton, his grandchildren, Jacob and Ashley Somers
as well as his longtime companion Alicia Ohlmeyer of New Orleans, La.

Funeral services in celebration of Mr. Hines’ life will be celebrated on
Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home
48 Broad Street in Plainville to Our Lady of Mercy Church
for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.

Burial with military honors will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.

Family and friends may gather at the funeral home
on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
