Thaddeus "Ted" Mikulak, 86, of Plainville, died July 7, 2009, at his home.

He was the beloved husband of 62 years to Agnes (Niesiobedzki) Mikulak.

He was born March 12, 1923, in New Britain to the late Stanley and Alexandra (Gondek) Mikulak.
He was a resident of Plainville for 55 years.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was employed with TRW (Marlin Rockwell) until retirement in 1985.
He also served as a firefighter with the Plainville Fire Department for 30 years before retiring.

He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville, serving as a minister of hospitality.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Plainville Senior Citizens Center.

Along with his loving wife, he leaves his only son, David Mikulak, of Middletown; three brothers,
Joseph Mikulak, of Southington; Alexander Mikulak, of New Britain, and Edward Mikulak, of Barefoot Bay, Fla.;
two sisters, Joan Osak, of Plainville, and Irene Squires, of Jupiter, Fla.;
along with many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his three brothers, Stanley, Casimir and Frank Mikulak; and a sister, Lucy Janowski.

The funeral was held July 10, 2009, at The Bailey Funeral Home, Plainville,

followed by a Mass at
Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville.

Burial with military honors followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
